PROGRESS REPORTS

For grades 1-8, all students will receive a progress report at the mid-point of each of the three trimesters. Progress reports will include a short written narrative on the student's progress.

GRADING CRITERIA

In an effort to communicate a clearer, more objective picture of a student’s academic progress, the Catholic elementary schools of the Diocese of Providence has adopted a rubric grading system.

This reporting system moves away from letter or numeral grades to the use of a scale of 1-5 that is based on more concrete, objective criteria. The use of a grading rubric will eliminate differences between teachers’ perceptions as it is based on student performance and competence. Specific weight is given to each area of performance according to grade level. This grading system gives the parent a more definitive picture of their child’s progress and will also identify student strengths and weaknesses.

PARENT GUIDES to the CURRICULUM

St. Rocco School has a comprehensive curriculum for each subject area in every grade level. Our curriculum  will continuously undergo evaluation and updating. Below are links to the "Parent Guide to the Curriculum" for  each grade. Please note that these provide only an overview of what your child will be learning and that the actual written curriculum is much more comprehensive.
