IMG-2665.jpg

St. Rocco School offers a variety of  after school programs. These activities and clubs are available to students of various grade levels during the fall, winter and  spring of the school year. All clubs are taught by a faculty  member or a certified instructor. Our goal is to offer different programs throughout the year to enable the students to expand beyond the curriculum. Students are given the opportunity to participate in activities of their choice  and/or to explore new interests. All specific information and details are included in our Thursday packets.

Friends of Jesus Prayer Group               Leader: Sr. Daisy

Dear Parents,

For those of you who know me or who are just getting to know me, my name is Sister Daisy Kollamparampil. I belong to the Congregation of The Daughters of Our Lady of the Garden.  Our Order was founded by St. Anthony Gianelli. I teach second grade here at St. Rocco School.

As part of my missionary work, I have facilitated a prayer group for the last eight years known as the Friends of Jesus which meets on every Monday from 2:35 to 3:15 pm. The meeting will be in the second grade homeroom. The first meeting will be on Monday, October 3th. This is open to all students in Grades K – 8.

The focus of this group is to continue the teaching of Jesus and to experience his unconditional love through prayer, fellowship, and activities. We invite you and your child to join this group and experience the power of prayer together.

Please let me know if you allow your child to join this group and if you yourself join.  I would appreciate if you could fill the form below and give to me by Thursday, September 28th.

I am looking forward to praying with you and your child.  If you have any question or concern, please contact me at srdkollamparampil@stroccoschool.org Thank you and may God bless you and your family.

Any adults who would like to join the prayer group, please come to the school and use the lower level side door near the map.

This program does not require a fee; however, I am asking for a $5.00 donation which will help us to do some hands on activities. Please make checks payable to St. Rocco School.

                                                                                                                       Sincerely,

                                                                                                                       Sr. Daisy Kollamparampil, FMH

Newspaper Club                Advisor: Mrs. Scotti

Newspaper Club is an after-school activity that meets once a week with the goal of producing several editions throughout the year. Students will get a chance to interview people and research stories, proof stories and accomplish as many real newspaper tasks as possible. We would like to have four pages—news, editorial, entertainment and sports.

Newspaper Club provides the opportunity for students to enhance and expand their writing skills, improve on their objectivity and fact-based writing and become accustomed to meeting a deadline.  Interviewing will help them to expand the back-and-forth conversation style they need every day, and all of it, we hope, will be fun for them.

This club is for grades 6-8 ONLY. It will be run for the entire year, October-May Thursdays from 2:30pm – 4:00pm.
